Firstly type the following two commands (each on one line) to test that the

fix it worked.

Reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell

Folders" /v AppData

should return (with your name in it not mine)

AppData REG_SZ C:\Users\David Candy\AppData\Roaming

"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders"

/v AppData

should return

AppData REG_EXPAND_SZ %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming

Try this. It is a possible workaround rather than a fix. Click Start menu -

Right click Computer (on the right hand side)- choose Properties - click

Advanced System Settings in the left hand pane - Advanced tab - click

Environment Variables button - under User Variables for <your name> click

the New button. Enter AppData for the variable name and C:\Users<your

name>\AppData\Roaming for the variable value. Make sure you put your

userprofile folder name for <your name>. Your userprofile folder name is

your folder under C:\users.
