Unable to Change Microsoft Account Security Information

Hello,

Whenever I try to change my Microsoft account security information, I get a message saying, "Almost there! Just one more step to verify it's you." It then shows a recovery email address that I do not recognize and have never used.

I click "I don't have any of these" and am taken to the account recovery page. It asks me to add an email address where a verification code can be sent. I enter a different email address that I have access to, receive the code, and verify it successfully.

However, when I enter the Microsoft account email address that I need help with, I get the message:

"Try entering your Microsoft account again. We don't recognize this one."

I have tried multiple email addresses, including my own and my parents', but I keep receiving the same message. Because of this, I am unable to update or change my account security information.

Could you please help me resolve this issue? If you are unable to assist directly, could you let me know whether Microsoft has a support email address, live chat, or phone number that I can contact cause everything I try is not working and I'm not getting the support I want?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Kind regards,

Max

Sorry to hear you're having trouble.

However, as this is an open forum I'm afraid that our ability to help with account issues is limited. My recommendation here would be to start an online chat with support via https://support.microsoft.com and click on Contact Us. Just follow the instructions and say you need more help until you reach a person. You can explain the issue to them and they may be able to help you further.
